Cook for the Queen

Four lucky pupils travelled to Holyroodhouse with Mrs Davis and Mr Henry on Wednesday 9th May, where they had the unforgettable experience of an audience with HRH Duchess of Cornwall. P7 pupils had been one of over 200 schools who had entered the National Cook for the Queen Competition to mark the Diamond Jubilee. Cardross were selected as finalists and joined another three Scottish schools at the event in Edinburgh. While there they met with HRH and gave a short presentation on our school and their entry in the Competition. They also cooked a couple of their menu suggestions in the Palace kitchens for HRH to sample. To complete this memorable day we were guests at a Military Parade, meeting with Alex Salmond, and their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. Our fantastic day was filmed by BBC Newsround and we now wait eagerly to see if we are in the final four to be invited to meet Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace in June.

SSFA Football Final

Over 90 of us made the journey to Toryglen on Monday to support our boys team and Mr Henry. Although we didn't come home with the trophy, we had a tremendous time and the footballers did us proud. A fantastic achievement for all involved - Well Done and here's to next year?!
